I by something like this. Not selfishly, but I only do what I want. I've tried living my life in ways to please other people, but no one is ever really satisfied, so why bother? Make you happy, you're the one who has to live with it.
I'm the same way, I've tried so hard to make old friends happy and just hurt myself in the process.
Hang in there, Mary Kate:) It will get better! I know it. Just focus on what makes you happiest.
