dont count your chickens before they've hatched

Today I had a job interview that looked very promising. After searching all summer I thought I had found a job with decent pay and it would be easy, watching dogs. However when I went for the interview no one was at the house and after waiting 15 minutes, the search continued on, I am still on the search for a job after 3 months.
