things i'm loving (fallish edition)
I am finally done midterms and will be celebrating in parks&rec fashion by treating myself to a whole foods trip, apple cider slushie and bread making tomorrow. Also I hope to soon update you on my adventures in culinary school if you all would like to hear about it.
“Don’t you love New York in the fall? It makes me want to buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address.” -You’ve Got Mail
my love list for the fall wouldn't be complete without a quote from my favorite fall movie, also if you know any guy that will send me a bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils help a girl out

midweek slump
I dont know if it's the fact that I still have a pratical midterm to take for culinary arts this week or that I forgot to take a stats quiz monday but I'm in a bit of a mood today. I'm feeling burnt out and its only wednesday, my tough classes (that lahttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifst 6 hours) dont even start until tomorrow and my online class is open tomorrow. None of this seems to matter I just dont feel productive. The weekend seems forever away. I'm trying to combat this feeling by thinking of my weekend plans: crafting for my giveaway once I reach 50 followers, getting a apple cider slushie at a local farm stand sunday, making a trip to whole foods and hopefully baking bread so I can make this lovely lustworthy sandwich.
Some other things that are getting me through this week; drinking lots of hot apple cider, salt bagels, michael buble and she&him's recent christmas albums and this quote: "I strive for grace, not perfection" (thanks april!)
what things are getting you through this week?

fall bucket list, updated
recently I made a bucket list for fall of things I wanted to make. I have tried to make none of them to be quite honest. Culinary school has gotten the best of me and when I'm not doing homework for that I'm practicing midterms for my classes, and when I'm not doing that my mother is requesting me to make things like gnocchi and soup that I've brought home from class and we both have loved. However I'm hoping that will change this weekend because I can't put off making this sandwich any longer, I think I've read the post about it 15 times and I just cant take it anymore. It's officially moved to the top of my list of things to make this fall and it allows me to make the french bread I so loved eating and making in foundations of baking a few weeks ago. Keep your eyes open for more updates on my bucket list as I hope to continue to cross things off in the few upcoming weeks.
--random note I've started collecting every food magazine that is anyway holiday/thanksgiving related and started making lists of things I want to add to our standard thanksgiving repertoire.

things i'm loving (parks and rec edition)
So recently I started watching Parks and Recreation and I seriously can't get enough. Amy Poehler is basically my hero and I wish I had someone as positive as Leslie Knope in my life. I watched the first 2 seasons in less then a week and am almost up to date and finished the 3rd season.
on another note, only 3 more followers and I'm going to do a giveaway!!!

a few things I don't think I could live without
There are a few things I need in my life to function and without them I'd probably be a hot disorganized mess.
Eucalyptus Spearmint Stress Relief lotion, thank the Bath&Body Works gods for making this. Yes it may really not relieve my stress but I like to think it does. Whenever I put it on my hands I cant stop smelling it. And I put it on at night and it helps me sleep.
CO. Bigelow Mentha Lipshine or any other CO. Bigelow chapstick/lipbalm/mango butter. I love that stuff so much it almost replaces my mango Burts Bees chapstick. In fact I carry both a Burts Bees chapstick and CO. Bigelow chapstick all the time just so I have a choice in what I want depending on the day.
Fine Tip Sharpie pens, genius, Im obsessed to say the least. They are basically the few pens I write with. I use them to write lists, cross things off my lists, in my planner, the list goes on. I have one black one in each of my school bags at all times.
I think I could buy stock in post it notes and be a successful person. Theyre what I write my to-do lists on, last minute notes to myself and in textbooks for extra reminders. There are also one of these in each of my school bags. One day I forgot to replace a stack of post it notes and I was seriously lost in class. Maybe I'm a little too obsessed with them.....
Finally my index card notebook for my culinary classes. For my two culinary classes this semester (foundations of baking and culinary arts) I have to have the recipes with me at all times. These notebooks are great and just the right size and easy to tear cards out if I need to.
Also not pictured, my iPhone. It's like an extended limb of my hand. I do alot of stuff on there and if I left at home or lost it I would probably cry and be a lost child.

bauble bar
you know those days when you have all these plans and you think ugh I'm not looking forward to doing this and going there but then surprisingly everything works out. I'm kinda having the opposite of those days, I had to visit financial aid for the millionth time this semester, got everything figured out, treated myself to some fancy cheese and a pumpkin whoopie pie and was all excited for the rest of the day, then as soon as I get home I find out I gave the wrong paper to financial aid and read a post that makes my heart feel a little heavy.
anyways this is my reasoning for a somewhat lame/cop out post today. a couple weeks ago I heard about baublebar and I've been hooked ever since. all of their jewelry is so adorable an affordable. also when you join the site you get $10 off your first purchase and free shipping. plus they ship pretty quickly.
so I got the polka bangle which I personally think is adorable and along with my purchase came a sweet personalized note and a velvet bag to keep my bracelet in.
some of these items have made it to the top of my wish list:
in case you couldnt tell, I have a thing for bracelets these days

things i'm loving
I had all these great intentions of doing a post today of some things I can't really live without these days, and me being on top of my game I took pictures and made a list of other posts I could write these days instead of neglecting this little blog. This morning I made some oatmeal and it tasted like feet, I took the pictures and couldnt find the adapter for my camera to upload them. So instead today you'll be getting a list of some things I'm currently loving/lusting/obsessing over. enjoy!
first things first, you need to check out this girls blog, I dont really know what I did before I knew it existed. It's just fabulous and she always gets my creative juices flowing.
secondly I'm all about college football these days. If you follow me on twitter, I apologize for the sometimes obsessive tweets on saturdays. I have this system now where I rotate wearing my favorite teams shirts every saturday (notre dame, west virginia, tennessee and alabama) I realize just how ridiculous I sound.
thirdly I just started watching parks&recreation and even though I've started with the episodes offered currently on hulu I'm hoping my brother gets me the other seasons to watch very soon. I'm totally hooked and cant wait to watch more.
also tv related, has anyone watched the chew? I'm loving every minute of it. Personally as much as I like them all seperately, without Clinton Kelly the show would be nothing. Seriously if you love food and havent seen it yet, you need to!
these pumpkins are adorable and actually get me excited about pumpkin decorating
one of my favorites:
and finally the civil wars, my friend told me the other day they were playing in philly in a couple weeks and the tickets were only $20 however its on a tuesday night, I have no one to go with me and I dont want to go alone. So instead theyre on constant repeat in my car and on my pandora station. It'll have to hold me over until the next time they come to town.
Plus how gorgeous are they?! I mean come on its not fair!
